Luna's Life

This is how it began…said Luna to Cloud.

"Roar!" roared Luna as she climbed out of her egg.

"Aw," said Aurora, looking at her daughter climb out of her rainbow egg.

"She is perfect," said Swordtail, looking at Luna calmly.

(1 year later)

"Mum," said baby Luna, "can I go to the flower meadows?"

"OK," said Aurora, "but be careful."

"OK!" said Luna.

(At the Meadow)

"Woohoo!" yelled Luna as she ran through the fields. "So many butterflies!"

"Huh," said Luna as she looked over at a beautiful little rainbow butterfly.

"Hey, wait up, little butterfly — stop!"

The little butterfly looked over to see talons grabbing around it.

"Gotcha!" said Luna, as she fell with the butterfly in her talons. "Wo, wo, wo!" said Luna as she and the butterfly started floating up into the sky. Suddenly her wings grew bigger, and the butterfly grew bigger.

Slowly they floated back down to the ground.

"What was that… wait a minute — ahhhh, that was a dragon bond!" squealed Luna happily.

"It's where a dragon and some kind of animal make a strong bond. It increases the dragon's powers, and the animal becomes the dragon's forever friend."

"That must be why my wings got bigger — so I can fly!"

"Let's test it out!"

(Flap, flap, flap) "I'm doing it, I'm doing it — I'm flying! Woohoo, yeah!"

"Oh wait, you need a name, little butterfly. I'm going to call you… Eclipse!"

"Yeah, OK Eclipse — come on, let's go home, but flying there."

(A few flaps later) "Eclipse, I have decided something. I want a sibling — someone who is as big as me… no offence."

"Mum," said Luna.

"Yes, honey," replied Aurora.

"Can I have a sibling?"

"Um… I guess so."

"So yeah, that's everything up to this day — because you were born. Did that help, Cloud?"

"Yeah, I think so. Thanks! Now I'm going to go ask Mum about her life."

"OK," said Luna. "Bye!"

"Hey, Mum."

"Yes, honey," said Aurora.

"What was your life like?"

"Well… that's a long story."
