Dragon Buddies

Is Dragon Buddies an Australian company?

Absolutely!
Dragon Buddies is a proudly Australian family business, based in Ballarat,
Victoria. Our garments are printed and dispatched by OGO, a Melbourne-based
print-on-demand service, and shipped via Australia Post. From Serena's
imagination to your doorstep — designed in Australia, for kids everywhere.

Who created the Dragon Buddies designs?

All Dragon Buddies characters and stories were dreamed up by Serena Mitra, an 11-year-old from Ballarat, Victoria. The designs were then brought to life using AI-assisted computer graphics. Made by a kid, for kids!

Design and Printing

What garments does Dragon Buddies use, and where do they come from?

Our T-shirts and hoodies are printed on premium blanks by AS Colour, one of Australia's most respected garment brands, known for quality fabrics and a strong commitment to ethical sourcing.

AS Colour maintains full traceability across their entire supply chain. Their garments are produced across 32 factories, with manufacturing spread across Bangladesh, China, and Vietnam. All factories are visited and audited against AS Colour's Code of Conduct and BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) standards.

AS Colour also maintains complete traceability across their fabric sources — knitting, dyeing, and yarn spinning — and sources cotton globally through partnerships with the Better Cotton Initiative, as well as certified organic and Australian cotton.

We chose AS Colour because quality and ethics matter to us. When Serena designs a dragon, we want it printed on something that's genuinely good — for the kids wearing it, and for the people who made it. You can read more about AS Colour's commitment to quality and ethics here.

What sizes do you offer?

Dragon Buddies T-shirts and hoodies are available in kids' sizes 2 to 12 and also adult sizes from XS to XXL.

Are the designs printed or embroidered?

The designs are printed using Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing — a digital print method that allows full-colour printing directly onto the garment. On white tees, CMYK ink is applied directly; on coloured garments, a white underbase is used first to ensure vibrant, accurate colours. See the OGO site for more information.
